Last week was my first week back on the wagon and it started out really well, however didn’t go on as well as I would have liked.
Monday was day one and a busy day at work including a long meeting meant I missed my lunch. This may sound good to some dieters but for me I like to eat healthily and regularly and if you don’t eat enough food your body shuts down and stores calories rather than burning them off, you need calories to kick start your metabolism so missing my lunch wasn’t good.
I got home after picking my son up at about 6.30 pm and to do a work out I couldn’t eat before hand so I started my Kempo X workout, unfortunately after 40 mins of the workout I got really bad cramp and had to stop. This is due to not eating and drinking enough during the day which goes to show you need to get the nutrition you need.
The cramp didn’t subside till wednesday but I was exhausted from work so skipped the workout until Thursday. Although my workout plan went to pot I carried on with my healthy eating and decided to change my workout schedule and did 40 minutes of Zumba on the Wii.
Zumba was fun, quick, I could do it from home while my son was napping and it is fun so you don’t feel like it is a proper work out.
Although my workout plan went a bit lopsided I made sure I didn’t give up all together and weigh day came and inspired me to continue. Although I had a bad start and couldn’t continue as I’d like I still lost 1lb.
I had a photoshoot on Satruday and although I would have liked to have been a bit more toned with a baggy top I felt I looked great, my diet is less about losing weight and looking good in clothes now but I want to stay fit, get toned and feel healthy! This week I am going to try to be a bit more realistic, bearing in mind I have a busy weekend of meals out and alcohol coming up so my workout plan is as follows;
- Monday – Zumba
- Tuesday – Plyometrics
- Wednesday – Rest
- Thursday – Chest, back and ab ripper
- Friday – Zumba
- Saturday – Rest
Hopefully this workout will be enough to ensure I can maintain or lose some weight come weigh day on Sunday, I am combining this with a balanced diet, increased vegetables, increased protein and balanced carbs, I am tracking this through the myFitnessPal app. If you want to follow my progress or see my diet then add me on myFitnessPal user name mummybelle.
