I originally saw this infographic posted on Jason Ferruggia’s website, but it was created by the Medical Billing And Coding website. For someone like myself that spends around 8 hours per day sat a desk looking at a computer screen (I work for a web design and SEO company), it’s a little bit disturbing although it is clearly designed with “shock value” in mind. Rather than worrying about it too much if you have a desk job, I would suggest considering ways of overcoming the problem. We addressed some of these recently in our post overcoming a sedentary lifestyle. These include taking regular breaks from your desk where possible, incorporating extra walking throughout the day and even some isometric exercises (these may be a little more easy to do in the workplace than jumping jacks!).
